How to Watch 1932 Online

The Yellowstone universe is expanding again with a new prequel from creator Taylor Sheridan. Previously titled 1932, this series will take viewers back a few decades to follow a new generation of Duttons during Western Expansion, Prohibition and the Great Depression.

It stars Dame Helen Mirren and Harrison Ford. Paramount+ announced the series today and is set to bow in December.

How to Watch

Filming for Yellowstone Season 5 is currently underway in Montana, but creator Taylor Sheridan also has another series slated to premiere soon. It’s a prequel called 1923 (previously titled 1932) that follows the Dutton family legacy.

Paramount+, the streaming platform that offers Yellowstone episodes, will be premiering the new Western series this December. It’s the latest in a string of Taylor Sheridan-led shows, including 1883 and Mayor of Kingstown.

Sheridan is a writer, director, producer and actor known for his work on films such as The Man Who Killed Hitler, The Legend of Hercules and Star Wars. The multi-hyphenate has signed a deal with Paramount that will see him create nine more shows for the studio, many of which are already on air or in development.

One of those upcoming series is a spinoff from Sheridan’s original Yellowstone, which was first announced in February and followed the Dutton family on their journey to the Montana wilderness. Sheridan has a knack for creating great westerns and he’s not stopping anytime soon.

The new series will follow the Dutton family’s next two generations in 1923, as they face historic drought, lawlessness and prohibition, cattle theft, and the Great Depression. Unlike Yellowstone, 1932 will be streamed exclusively on Paramount+, which costs $4.99 a month.

Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren are set to star in the new series, according to Variety. The Star Wars and The Queen actor will take on a role that’s been kept under wraps but fans suspect he’ll be playing John Dutton Sr. He’s also had roles in Star Trek, Blade Runner and Indiana Jones.

For this week's pick, we went with the upcoming Yellowstone prequel 1932. The series is an award-winning homage to the original show's heyday, kicking off with a sweeping production shot of the Montana mountains in all their glory. The show also has a star-studded cast, including Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren as Jacob and Cara Dutton, the brother and sister of the main characters in 1883. The most exciting news is that it's set to debut this December on Paramount+. You'll have to subscribe to the service to watch it, but you can try it out for free with a seven-day trial. It's also a good way to get a feel for the new service. You'll be glad you did! We'll be back next week for more streaming recommendations.

Streaming Schedule

The streaming schedule is an important part of your streamer strategy because it determines when you’re going live each day and how long your stream will last. By deciding on a specific time each week you can create a consistent flow of viewers that will continue to come back and watch more of your stream. It’s also a good idea to pick a time that works well for your target audience so they can find you easily.

The creator of Yellowstone, Taylor Sheridan, has been busy since his breakout hit hit the streaming scene in 2018. He’s now got nine series on the air or in production with Paramount. Sheridan also just released Mayor of Kingstown to the streamer in November, which is a prequel to the Yellowstone series.

Sheridan is a master when it comes to western dramas and his shows have always been a success, so it’s no surprise that he’s now spinning out more of his series. ViacomCBS, soon to be renamed Paramount, revealed that it has ordered a new Yellowstone spinoff starring Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren.

Originally titled 1932, the spinoff will take place around 35 years before John Dutton III was born. The show will follow the Duttons as they seek a new life in Montana.

It’s unclear whether the new series will feature any of the cast from the original Yellowstone. However, it’s expected to star both Ford and Mirren in a story set against the backdrop of World War I and Prohibition.

In addition to this new series, Paramount+ has also ordered a new prequel to 1883 that will focus on the Duttons’ journey through untamed America. The show will follow a new generation of Duttons as they move West during the Great Depression and World War II, according to ViacomCBS.

The next chapter in the Dutton family saga will debut on Paramount+ this December. Titled 1932, the new series will center on the Duttons’ quest to reunite with their ancestors and return to the Western frontier.

The spinoff series is produced by 101 Studios and MTV Entertainment Studios, both owned by Paramount Network. It’s the sixth series Sheridan has created for the studio. Sheridan is also the creator of Yellowstone and its prequel series 1883, both of which have racked up record numbers for Paramount+.

Cast

The Yellowstone series has a new prequel, 1932, and it's set to debut on Paramount+ in December. The show follows a new generation of the Dutton family as they deal with drought, cattle theft, lawlessness and more in this period of American history. The cast includes legendary actors Helen Mirren and Harrison Ford, who will be playing a couple of different characters.

The casting of Helen Mirren and Harrison Ford is a major announcement for the Yellowstone franchise. These two stars have starred in multiple film and TV shows, including Prime Suspect and Catherine the Great. They are also known for their work on the BBC.

Sheridan's previous Yellowstone venture Mayor of Kingstown, 1883 and its spin-off 1883: The Bass Reeves Story are huge hits for the streaming platform, so 1932 is sure to be a hit as well. Sheridan's other ventures like Lioness, Tulsa King and Land Man have all been acclaimed as well, so we can expect a high standard of storytelling for this next chapter of the Dutton family tree.

There's no official announcement of who else will be in 1932 yet, but it's likely that Sheridan will rely on his pool of cast members from past shows. James Jordan, who appeared in Yellowstone as livestock agent Steve Hendon, 1883 as 'Cookie' and Mayor of Kingstown as prison guard Ed Simmons has been a mainstay in Sheridan's previous shows, so it's likely that he will be cast again for this upcoming series as well.

Heridan has also hinted that he plans to use the same cast for this new series as he did in the previous show, so it's likely that he'll have his hands full with the number of actors he's able to assemble. That's why it's important to check back here and on WTW for more news about this new series!

Sheridan has already created a lot of drama in his previous series, but 1932 might just be his most dramatic yet. We can't wait to see how he pulls off this new take on a time in American history that isn't usually depicted on television.
