How to Watch Professor T Online

The cult Belgian crime series Professor T is now available on ITV. It stars Ben Miller as a brilliant Cambridge University criminologist who is begrudgingly drawn into helping the police.

His former student DI Lisa Donckers persuades him to help the CID team solve a series of peculiar crimes. However, the cracks in his buttoned-down world begin to show.

How to Watch

Those who are lucky enough to live near one of the many cable or satellite TV providers in the UK will have access to a wide variety of quality shows. However, for those who are more mobile, it can be a little tricky to find your favourite shows and get them on demand, especially when you’re in another country. That’s where a VPN comes in handy, especially for those who want to watch the latest and greatest TV series without having to shell out for an expensive cable bill. A VPN will mask your true location and change your IP address to the best of your ability, so you can enjoy your favorite shows on any device, anywhere at anytime.

Professor T is one of the newer shows to make the leap from television to online streaming and it certainly hasn’t disappointed. With a total of 6 episodes, the show will keep you on the edge of your seat as it moves from the Antwerp Homicide Department to the streets of London and beyond. With a stellar cast including Ben Miller, Emma Naomi, Frances de la Tour and Barney White, this is one of the most enjoyable new shows to have made the transition from TV screen to digital.

Season 1

Based on the Belgian series of the same name, this crime drama starring Ben Miller, who is a former physics student at Cambridge, focuses on a brilliant criminologist who helps police solve murders. Despite being obsessed with cleanliness, structure and order, Professor Jasper Tempest gets involved in a range of crimes that are far from his field of expertise.

The first episode sees Jasper help out a colleague who is investigating a serial rapist. He also tries to protect a student who is being attacked by one of the same men.

A second episode sees the police enlist his services to solve a murder, which turns out to be connected with his father’s suicide years before. It causes the Professor to change his life entirely.

As a result, the series also explores how childhood trauma can affect adults, particularly when it comes to relationships. The series also features a number of characters who are both interesting and memorable.

It has been described as a cross between the classic crime procedurals of the 1970s and 1980s, while also exploring the private lives of its fascinating cast of characters. It is one of the most popular and successful crime dramas ever made, having won multiple awards including an Emmy award for Outstanding Continuing Performance in a Drama Series.

Among the main characters are DI Lisa Donckers (Emma Naomi), police detective and former student of Professor T; police officer Dan Winters, Lisa’s sidekick; and Paul Rabbit, the senior office with a personal tragedy that has left him lost and drifting.

A third character is DCI Rabet, a corrupt and alcoholic inspector who joins the professor’s team in the episode “De troonopvolger deel 1” (Heir to the Throne, Part 1). He’s a bit of a pest at times, but is very loyal to his colleagues.

Another character that exemplifies this trait is Walter de Paepe, the Dean of the Faculty of Law. He tends to overrule Teerlinck, and even Annelies, at times. He also seems to have a habit of getting a little overexcited, causing a lot of trouble.

Season 2

A grisly case in episode three features a family who are found dead on their sofa as Professor T and the police try to work out whether it is a case of familicide or if the palliative care doctor mother has been targeted for her views on assisted dying.

The series, based on the Belgian original, follows Professor Jasper Tempest, who helps police solve strange crimes against the backdrop of Cambridge University. The show stars Ben Miller (Death in Paradise), Frances de la Tour (Bridgerton) and Juliet Stevenson (Dodds).

When Professor T’s own life becomes entangled with one of his students, Detective Sergeant Lisa Donckers, he is forced to overcome his phobias and fears as she helps her solve a case that has uncanny parallels with a double murder he successfully prosecuted 15 years ago. His encyclopaedic knowledge of criminal psychology proves invaluable to the CID team, but his buttoned-down world starts to break down.

In another case, a man’s body is found in the trunk of his car, a week after he was arrested on suspicion of killing a neo-Nazi. The police don’t want to call in the psychological criminology expert, but it soon becomes clear that this is no ordinary murder.

T is a reluctant ally to the under-resourced CID team, despite his encyclopaedic knowledge of psychological criminology. But as Lisa and Daniel are able to build an unbeatable team, he discovers that working with them isn’t all he thought it would be.

As a result, T finds himself embroiled in a hostage situation, where his unconventional negotiating tactics aren’t quite as welcome as he would like. And he is also forced to face his past, when he rekindles an old romance with Christina Brand.

While his relationships with the other characters in this series seem to be more complicated than the premise suggests, it doesn’t necessarily stop Professor T from being a character that people will enjoy watching. Hopefully, season two will find its rhythm and make the most of Tempest’s unique quirks.

If you’re looking to watch Professor T on your television, you can find it on ITV on Fridays at 9pm. But it may be affected by scheduling changes, so make sure to check the broadcaster’s website for the latest schedule and whether it will be aired on your preferred day and time.

Season 3

One of the UK's most popular and streamed dramas, Professor T is set to return with a third series. The show's star Ben Miller (Death in Paradise) has been recommissioned by ITV for the next six episodes, according to a report from Deadline.

The ITV series tells the story of a criminology professor with OCD who takes on head-scratching murder cases. But when a former student, Detective Sergeant Lisa Donckers (Frances de la Tour), approaches him for assistance on a case, Professor T's buttoned-down world begins to unravel.

Using his encyclopaedic knowledge of criminal psychology, he helps Donckers and the Cambridge police solve baffling crimes while also trying to get closer to his family. But the cracks in his carefully constructed emotionless carapace begin to show, as he struggles to deal with the trauma of his childhood and the ramifications of his mother's divorce.

Season 3 kicks off with a case that involves a serial rapist who was once a student of T's. When he is persuaded by the police to help them track him down, his forensic expertise proves invaluable, but his unconventional negotiating tactics don't go down too well with the team.

Meanwhile, a drug dealer who is on trial for a double murder is convinced that his employer Verhulst is innocent and is found hiding in the professor's home. But when the cops suspect that he may be involved in another case, his friends come to his defense.

It isn't long before Detective Paul Rabbit (Andy Gathergood) and his nemesis John McCrae (Michael McIntyre) team up to try to stop him. As the team closes in on the man, they realize that he has been working with Rabet.

The first season was a hit with critics, and it's no surprise to hear that ITV is keeping the show going for a third installment. Hopefully, Season 3 won't disappoint fans of the show as well. The third season is expected to hit the airwaves in the spring or summer of 2022.
