How to Watch Riviera on Sky Atlantic

The sun-drenched Cote d’Azur is a paradise for water sports, but the region also offers plenty to see. Enjoy a day trip to the glamorous Monaco, or take an excursion to St Tropez by boat from Nice.

Sky Atlantic's sumptuous drama series Riviera has captivated audiences with its shady conspiracies, stolen art and exotic locations. Julia Stiles stars as a woman who abandons the glamorous French Riviera and starts over again, only to be thrown headlong into a dark conspiracy.

How to watch

A year after the death of her husband in a suspicious yacht explosion, new wife Georgina (Julia Stiles) sets off for the opulent playground that is the French Riviera, only to be thrown for a loop by all of the audacious excess that surrounds it.

The series is produced by Sky Originals and written and directed by Neil Jordan, who also helmed the Oscar-winning flick The Martian. In addition to Stiles, the show stars Adrian Lester, Rupert Graves, Poppy Delevingne and Jack Fox.

In the first episode of season three, Georgina and her new partner Gabriel Hirsch (Rupert Graves) are tasked with finding one of the most valuable art pieces in the world. However, it’s not just a simple matter of locating the artefact and returning it to its rightful owners.

As their quest to find the elusive masterpiece takes them across Venice, Saint-Tropez and Argentina, they’re also forced to grapple with a host of other tangled issues, from family intrigue and murder to shady conspiracies and even a little black magic. Fortunately, the Riviera is still going strong and will return to Sky Atlantic in October for another round of opulent escapades.

You can watch the series online or on your TV, with some episodes available on Netflix and Hulu in the US and Australia. It’s also available to stream with your NOW TV account in the UK and Ireland. The best part? It’s all available in high definition. The Riviera may not be for everyone, but it’s certainly worth checking out if you’re looking for a little mystery, a dash of drama and some well-executed esoterica.

Season 1

Riviera is one of Sky's original drama series, with high production values, stunning locations and top quality actors. It’s a gripping story that leaves you on the edge of your seat and it's available to watch on Sky Atlantic with NOW TV Entertainment Pass now.

The French Riviera is a place that captures our imagination more than any other coastal destination, a region that oozes luxury and exclusivity but also hides a dark side behind its shimmering facade. As a result, it is no surprise that it has been used as the backdrop to a number of movies and television shows.

This season of Riviera picks up a year after the end of season 2. The new series will see Georgina Clios (Julia Stiles) moving to New York and starting a new life. But she will soon find herself in a world of mystery and danger.

It's a story about wealth, greed and corruption. It also explores the darker side of society through an eye-catching plot and gorgeous locations.

A well shot, beautifully lit drama set among the rich elite of France's sun soaked Riviera, it is certainly promising, especially for the first half of the season. It has a great mystery that is backed by some tense action moments but a strange change of pace and tone in the second half of the season squanders all of this good work, leaving the finale feeling wildly misjudged and ultimately unsatisfying.

In the season opener, art curator Georgina Clios (Julia Stiles) is bidding on a modernist painting in New York when she discovers her husband Constantine Clios (Anthony LaPaglia) has been killed in an explosion on a luxury yacht. As she tries to piece together the truth of what has happened, she finds herself caught up in the web of lies and deceit that surrounds her.

As she begins to dig deeper into her husband's activities, she uncovers a network of shady business deals involving money laundering and art forgery. She also begins to suspect that her husband's children - Adam, Christos and Adriana - are all connected to the murder.

Season 2

Riviera is one of Sky's original dramas and has a reputation for high production values. The series follows the life of wealthy art dealer Georgina Clios (Julia Stiles) and her family after her husband Constantine (Anthony LaPaglia) is killed in a yacht explosion.

In season two, Georgina tries to make amends for her unforgiving actions from the end of season one, but secrets from her past force her to explore her turbulent childhood against her will. As a result, she returns to her childhood home with a refreshed sense of self and re-establishes her place in the family alongside her charismatic uncle Jeff (Will Arnett).

But Georgina's newfound freedom comes at a price: her life is put on the line when she attempts to dispose of her husband's body during a storm. She falls overboard, but is rescued by businessman Raafi Al-Qaadi (Alex Lanipekun) and his wife Daphne (Poppy Delevingne).

After she's rescued from the water, she discovers that Adam - her son from her first marriage to Constantine - has died. While trying to find out what happened, she uncovers a dark underworld of violence and lies in the Riviera. She then finds herself entangled in the dealings of Russian oligarch Grigory Litvinov (Simon Keane), whom Constantine had dealt with before his death.

As Georgina struggles to cope with the aftermath of her husband's murder, she also faces a number of problems from her rival Irina (Lena Olin), who wants to take control of the Clios family. She also makes a deal with a prominent figure in the Riviera underworld, Lady Cassandra Eltham (Juliet Stevenson), who has her own secrets to worry about.

Meanwhile, Irina's children, recovering addict Christos and unpredictable Adriana (Dimitri Leonidas and Roxanne Duran), continue to struggle with their own issues, and they have a difficult time coping with the fact that their mother has gone missing. Then a mysterious woman arrives in the region and threatens Irina's family.

Riviera season two will begin on Saturday, May 8 and will air every Thursday at 9pm on Sky Atlantic, and will also be available to watch in the UK via NOW TV. All episodes can be streamed live on Sky Go or downloaded to watch offline, and the full first season is also available for purchase from the same service.

Season 3

The word “riviera” denotes a certain image of luxury, with palm trees along the sea, upscale hotels and casinos, gourmet restaurants and private beaches. It also refers to a particular region of the Mediterranean, namely the French Riviera.

The French Riviera is famous for its glamor, with its Cannes Film Festival and the exclusive principality of Monaco. These locations attract many celebrities, making them popular places to vacation.

However, the riviera’s luxurious lifestyle can be dangerous if you don’t know where to look. As a result, the Riviera has become a target for thieves and other people who want to profit from its wealth.

In the third season of riviera, Julia Stiles stars as Georgina Clios, who is forced to leave her beloved French Riviera behind and start a new life after the death of her billionaire husband Constantine. As her family and her new life are turned upside down, she has to face the truth about her fortune.

She soon discovers that her husband’s money and life were surrounded by violence, drugs and lies. With her children’s safety at stake, she must step out of her comfort zone and protect her family.

Her journey takes her across Europe and she meets a charismatic individual named Gabriel Hirsh (Rupert Graves, who played DI Lestrade in Sherlock). He’s an audacious opportunist, with a sense of justice and the ability to negotiate with severely shady characters.

There are also some new characters in the series, including Ellen Swann, Chief of Staff to tech billionaire Alex Harewood (Synnove Macody Lund), who is emotionally intelligent and superbly strategic. She’s ruthless and knows how to play her cards well.

Another shady character in the third season of riviera is Cesar Alsina Suarez, who’s a son of an Argentine politician. He’s an ambitious and shady person who wants to succeed, but he’s also a dangerous player with connections to the Riviera underworld.

The new season of riviera is now available to watch on SBS On Demand, so you can catch up on the first two episodes before you see the third season. You can also buy season three on Sky box sets and NOW TV.
