How to Watch Stargate Online

As far as sci-fi franchises go, Stargate is one of the most enduring and popular. It began with a movie directed by Roland Emmerich in 1994, then went on to become a long-running television series.

There’s a lot of content to watch, which is why some fans might get confused when it comes to where to start. So, we’ve compiled this guide to help you out.

SG-1

If you're looking for a sci-fi show that's fun, exciting and provides plenty of action and drama, then Stargate SG-1 is the way to go. The series stars Amanda Tapping, Christopher Judge and Teal'c as the members of a secret military team that explores other planets through the Stargate.

In the first eight seasons of SG-1, the team's missions are to explore alien space and search for new technology and allies, and to fight an interplanetary threat in the form of the Goa'uld. This snake-like alien race from the planet P3X-888 is able to take humans as unwilling hosts, and they pose as gods of old Earth mythologies, especially Ancient Egypt.

The series also introduces the Ori, another powerful and highly evolved race that uses its abilities to subjugate other species by religious indoctrination. The Ori are a major villain in Seasons 9 and 10, although they appear as minor characters in early episodes.

As the show progresses, the SG teams encounter many different alien races and alliances. They meet the symbiotic and advanced Tok'ra, the pacifist Nox, the Roswell-alien Asgard, the remnants of the Ancients, and the sentient machines known as Replicators.

Eventually, a conflict arises over the location of the Stargate's power source. SG-1 finds the source of the energy and learns that it has been hidden for millions of years by a race of aliens called the Ancients. This group originally built the network, but after ascending to a higher plane of existence they pledged not to interfere with other cultures.

However, their plan backfires when a group of Earth's science teams discover a possible off-world Naquadah mining site, which the Unas consider holy ground. Despite this, the Pentagon orders mining to begin, and violence erupts.

To stop the violence, SG-1 activates the Ark of Truth, an artifact that is supposed to deceive the Ori and prevent them from invading Earth. However, the device proves to be unreliable and a few of the Ori escape, leaving Earth and its allies to defend themselves against a powerful alien force.

The show's cast includes Jack O'Neill, Daniel Jackson, Samantha Carter, Teal'c and a handful of other characters who appear in multiple episodes. The series has also featured an array of guest actors and recurring characters, including Teryl Rothery, Gary Jones, Dan Shea, Sylvester Siler, Peter Williams, Tony Amendola, Carmen Argenziano, David Palffy, Cliff Simon, Lexa Doig, and Don S. Davis.

Atlantis

If you're a diehard sci-fi fan and the SG-1 franchise has you shook, then you'll love the classic spin-off series Atlantis. The show was a huge hit in its 2004-2009 run, and it introduced many of the characters and settings that made Stargate SG-1 such a success.

Despite the end of Atlantis in 2009, fans are still passionate about the show and the series' lore. They're eager to watch new episodes and rewatch old ones to see what happened next in the adventures of Major John Sheppard (Joe Flanigan), Dr. Elizabeth Weir (Kate Mulgrew), and others.

You can watch Atlantis on Netflix and Hulu, but you'll need to be patient and find an episode that works for you. Some of the older episodes are in 4:3 ratio, while others have been upgraded to 720p resolution. In some cases, the episodes are TV-MA for mature content.

The episodes of Atlantis are self-contained stories, but they also serve as an important bridge between Stargate SG-1 and the larger Stargate Universe storyline. While there are some crossovers, the majority of the episodes focus on the war against the Wraith.

They meet with a new group of allies, but they are soon enmeshed in a deadly fight for the survival of Atlantis and its inhabitants. They're also forced to deal with the fact that Ronon is captured by the Wraith.

After a short break, the Atlantis crew returns to the Pegasus Galaxy, where they meet a whole new set of enemies. The team is once again faced with the challenge of re-establishing contact with Earth while battling a new enemy that's even more powerful than the Wraith.

Origins

The original Stargate was a 1994 film that kickstarted a franchise that spawned a handful of other movies and a slew of TV spinoffs. Now, the show that started it all is back in a new form, and you can watch it for free online.

A prequel series to the original Stargate movie, Origins is a 10-episode webseries that will explore the life of Catherine Langford, the archaeologist whose obsession with alien hieroglyphs unearthed on her father's archaeological expedition leads to an unexpected adventure. It will also feature characters from Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis and the original Stargate.

It is being produced by MGM and New Form and stars Mercedes Bryce Morgan. The series was announced in July 2017 as part of MGM's 20th anniversary celebrations for Stargate SG-1.

The new series will debut exclusively on MGM's new digital platform "Stargate Command" which offers a subscription-based service that includes all of the franchise's television shows and films as well as apps, Google Cast-ready devices and more. All of these features are included in the $20 All-Access membership that allows viewers to stream the series, but they can also watch it for free with a simple one-time payment.

MGM plans to post the first three episodes for everyone to see on February 15th, and will continue to add more episodes throughout the week. The entire series is expected to run about ten minutes apiece.

In addition to bringing back the original Stargate story, Origins will also introduce some new characters. Among them will be Gerak, a former Goa'uld Prime who now leads the Free Jaffa Nation.

Gerak is a rival of Teal'c, but is also a strong supporter of the Ori religion. He will try to use the Ori’s power against the new Jaffa nation, but will be careful and methodical in his attempts to accomplish his goals.

Infinity

If you’re a fan of the Stargate franchise, you might be wondering how to watch all the episodes in chronological order. While there are a few ways to go about this, the best option is to watch them in the order that they were originally aired. This will allow you to keep the continuity straight, while also making sure that you don’t miss any big references along the way.

The first thing you should do is to figure out which of the shows you want to watch, and where they fit in with the rest of the Stargate storyline. If you haven’t watched any of the series before, then you should start with the original movie and work your way through the other titles in order to see the whole storyline unfold.

You should also know that some of the shows don’t fit well together, so it’s a good idea to do a little research before you watch any of them. This will give you a better understanding of what is going on in the stories, and help you determine whether or not they’re worth your time.
