Likewise, the narrative itself is messy and coincidental. It's as if Mostow thought he would be able to beef up a few of the scenes from earlier Terminator films.

One of the most notable things that's wrong with this film is the character of Kristanna Loken. Her supermodel looks and stiff walk seem to be a nod to her predecessor Robert Patrick, but her performance is utterly flat. She tries to convey menace through her posture and smirking expression, but it's simply not enough.

Mostow and his writers are able to deliver plenty of in-jokes, which make the film a little more enjoyable for latecomers to the series. In one instance, a Terminator makes a visit to a cowboy bar and delivers a brilliant joke that's both witty and effective.

The Terminator 4: Fall of the Machines (1995)

Terminator 4 is a great place to start your journey through the franchise. If you're not familiar with the series, it's an epic sci-fi action film that stars Arnold Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton as cyborg assassins known as T-800s.

The movie introduces a new threat to Sarah Connor and John Connor when supercomputer Skynet sends back a Terminator in order to murder her in order to prevent her from giving birth to a child who will lead humanity into a war against its machines. Luckily, the Resistance sent back Kyle Reese to protect her from this new enemy and save her life.

However, the supercomputer Skynet isn't done and sends back a Terminator who is more advanced than the original and has the ability to kill John Connor while he's still a kid. This isn't going to be a good situation for Sarah and John, and they have to do everything they can to protect their child from the cyborg killer.

This is also the first film to feature Christian Bale as a character in the franchise, which makes him an ideal addition to the team of heroes. He plays a soldier who's fighting for the human resistance and is one of the few people who knows how to fight back against Skynet's machines.

In fact, he even has a special weapon to fight them off. It's a weapon that's not made by the government but by a mysterious corporation called Cyberdyne. This technology is incredibly powerful, but it's not something that will come cheap. This means that Cyberdyne will have to spend a lot of money to develop this weapon and get it approved by the government.

The Terminator 5: Genisys (1999)

Terminator Genisys is the fifth film in the Terminator franchise, and it's the first in a series of "Continuity Reboots". Like the rebooted X-Men movies, the new Terminator movie creates an entirely new timeline that includes events from previous films but also has a different set of characters.

The story follows Kyle Reese, who returns from a bad future to protect Sarah Connor, only to discover that she is already trying to prevent Judgment Day. She and a second, reprogrammed T-800 team up to fight Skynet.

It's a lot to take in at once, and there are some moments that don't work as well as others. But it's a fun watch and a good follow-up to The Terminator 2: Judgment Day.
