How to Watch the Dictator

The creators and star of Borat bring you the hilarious comedy about what happens when the world's worst dictator comes to America. Stuck in New York, Aladeen (Sacha Baron Cohen) is forced to live his ultimate nightmare – the American dream!

To help you write a great conclusion, you need to first think about your readers' pain points. Then, you can address them directly.

Story

A dictator is a term used to describe a political figure who rules over his or her country with an iron fist. They're typically hereditary and have a large number of henchmen. They also have a lot of power to spend and may be able to make your life a living hell. They are not for the faint of heart. The aforementioned story of how to watch the dictator, starring Sacha Baron Cohen and Ben Kingsley, is a fun if slightly over-the-top tale of how one man's love of power can lead to his downfall. You can currently catch this comedy on fuboTV, Showtime, and DIRECTV Stream. You can get a free 7-day trial by clicking here. The best part? You can watch it all week.

Cast

A satire of politics and government, the film stars Sacha Baron Cohen as Admiral General Aladeen. This is his fourth feature film, following Borat and Bruno, and he co-writes the screenplay with Larry Charles. This is a departure from Baron Cohen's previous mockumentary films, as it features a full supporting cast of known actors and proper film production camerawork rather than being focused entirely on his character.

The Dictator is available to watch on fuboTV, Showtime Amazon Channel, Roku Premium Channel, Showtime DIRECTV Stream, and DIRECTV, as well as a variety of other places online. You can also buy or rent it on Vudu, Apple iTunes, Google Play Movies, and Microsoft Store.

If you're looking for a raunchy comedy with a bit of sex on the side, you can't go wrong with The Dictator. Its purposely offensive humor is sure to shock you, and you'll enjoy its brazen style, which boldly veers where many filmmakers would hesitate for fear of coming off as insensitive or bonkers. Ultimately, The Dictator is a movie that's best watched with the family, and it's one you'll want to watch again and again as it makes you laugh every time. Whether you're a fan of Sacha Baron Cohen or not, this is definitely a movie you'll want to see. It's one that will make you laugh as much as it will make you cry.

Rating

If you’re a fan of Sacha Baron Cohen, you may want to check out his latest film, The Dictator. It features the same off-the-cuff humor that made his earlier semi-scripted comedies Borat and Bruno a hit.

Baron Cohen is a master at getting audiences to laugh at obscene jokes and light comic fodder. His humor is often crude and slapstick and his characters are obscene and offensive but it’s always done with the right amount of heart to make you feel bad about laughing at them.

The Dictator is a comedy that is not afraid to take on taboos and is a good reminder of why the satire genre is so important. It skewers racial oppression, the contradictions of democracy, the world economic situation, and even China’s own brand of “democracy” and its many forms of corruption.

Aladeen (Baron Cohen) is a ruthless dictator who wants to rid his country of democratic rule. When the people of his country rise up against him, he replaces himself with a fake body double. He then threatens to sign a nuclear agreement with the United States.

It’s a little hard to watch the movie for its first half as it takes a while for the characters and the plot to gel but once the story picks up pace, it starts to get more exciting. The film has a lot of great moments in it and its main stars Anna Faris and Ben Kingsley are very talented.

Despite some missteps, The Dictator is still a very funny film and if you’re a fan of the Cohen style of comedy then it’s well worth checking out. You can find it on a wide variety of online platforms and streaming services like fuboTV, Showtime, Amazon, Roku, and more.

The Dictator is the type of satire that is deliberately crafted to tick off the right audience and entertain everyone else. It’s crude without being overly offensive, and it’s played strictly for laughs.

The Dictator has a lot of off-color jokes and slapstick that are very irreverent and juvenile. It also has a very tender emotional subplot that is actually quite compelling. It’s a little hard to get into at the start, but once you do, it will have you smiling and feeling guilty about laughing at it.

Recommendation

If you like Sacha Baron Cohen, then you’ll probably enjoy The Dictator. However, it won’t be as good as his Borat or Bruno, and the comedy style that made those films so funny will be hard to sustain.

This is a conventional comic movie rather than the guerrilla-clowning of Borat or the ambush-interview mockumentary of Bruno. Still, the crass, over-the-top humour of this film is just as entertaining. Its slapstick comedy is far less spontaneous than what we’ve come to expect from Baron Cohen, but the scripting is tighter and the actors are more believable.

The Dictator stars the very funny Sacha Baron Cohen as Admiral General Aladeen, a dictator of Wadiya. He’s a petty, misogynistic and self-centered leader who tries to force his country into a democracy so it can be opened up to oil deals and make him rich. But he doesn’t realize that his chief aide, Tamir (Ben Kingsley), is plotting to have him assassinated on the way to give a UN speech.

But Aladeen manages to escape and find shelter with a feminist girl named Zoey (Anna Faris) in New York. He starts to warm up to her and the two of them begin to fall in love. But when Zoey’s ex-husband shows up, Aladeen is forced to rethink his views on dictatorship.

There are plenty of racial/stereotype jokes in this comedy, as well as political jabs. They’re all well done, but they might upset certain people.

In short, The Dictator is a very crass and over-the-top comedy that’s quite funny, but it’s also one that parents should be prepared for if their kids are sensitive to such humor. It includes lots of swearing and derogatory/racist terms, as well as a fair number of sexual jokes.

It’s important to note that The Dictator is not a film you’ll want to watch with your kids, unless they’re very well-behaved and not very outgoing. Fortunately, the characters are so believable and the dialogue so brash, it doesn’t really bother most adults.

Aside from that, I think it’s a great film. It’s a different type of movie for Baron Cohen, one that doesn’t involve improvised scenes or a guerilla-clowning style like Borat or Bruno, but it’s a very funny, slap-happy, sexy and sharp comedy. It’s also a lot more conventional than his earlier work, so it might not appeal to the same kind of fans as those movies, but if you’re looking for an offbeat, crass and silly comedy with a heavy dose of coarse humour, The Dictator is worth checking out.
