Michael Bryce and Darius Kincaid are back on a life-threatening mission
The Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard is an action-packed thriller about Michael Bryce (James Caan), a former bodyguard, and Darius Kincaid (Samuel L. Jackson), a former hitman. Their lives are threatened by a group of gunmen. A pair of Interpol agents enlist the pair's help.
In order to rescue his wife Sonia (Salma Hayek) from the gangsters, Michael Bryce must find the terrorist mastermind, Aristotle Papadopoulos, before it's too late. When Bryce's father, Bryce Senior (Morgan Freeman), arrives in Italy for a vacation, he decides to ask for help. He knows that he can't protect his daughter alone. So, he convinces the trio to work for him.
However, the trio quickly realizes that he is not the man they are looking for. It turns out that Bryce's father is an international con artist. As a result, Sonia turns against him.
Luckily, Bryce's father, Senior, has a connection to Interpol. That's how he finds out that Bryce and Kincaid are in the middle of a mission. He also tells them he wants to get home.
But first, Bryce and Kincaid have to kill the mobsters who took Darius away. To make the situation worse, Bryce's mother is dead and he's blamed for her death. Eventually, Bryce's father gets a call from Darius, who has been kidnapped by mobsters.
Bryce and Kincaid are forced to use an Interpol agent to complete the mission. They use the agent as a decoy, but eventually, the mobsters catch them.
While the movie has a good action scene at the end, it is a bit distracting at times. For instance, the CG explosions look a little fake.
Ultimately, though, the film does offer decent action and some great scenes, including the final showdown.
