Season 1

Signora Volpe is a new crime drama from Acorn TV. It stars Emilia Fox (Silent Witness) and is set in Umbria, Italy. It is set to air on 2nd May.

A disillusioned spy who feels she has run out of tricks, Sylvia Fox (Emilia Fox) leaves her job in the UK and moves to the Italian countryside. She visits her sister Isabel Vitale in the handsome hillside town of Panicale and, inspired by the beauty of the area, she decides to buy a dilapidated farmhouse and use her cloak-and-dagger skills to start anew.

Soon she’s involved in a series of fresh mysteries, from the disappearance of a young woman 25 years ago to the theft of a truffle pig and a blackmail plot against the son of a Russian politician. Captain Giovanni Riva of the Carabinieri (Giovanni Cirfiera) grudgingly accepts her interference, but it isn’t long before they begin to trust each other and work together.

When she helps out with an archaeological dig, Sylvia discovers a skeleton that has been buried in a shallow grave for more than a quarter of a century. When she learns that the skeleton was a young girl who went missing near the end of World War II with partisans fighting pro-fascists, she becomes fascinated.

She enlists her sister’s help and starts to investigate Alice’s sketchy fiance Tommaso (Giulio Corso), who is hiding a criminal past, but it isn’t until Sylvia discovers that she has a secret that she really wants to keep hidden.

Her first case is a surprising one, and it will keep you on your toes until the very end.

In episode two, Sylvia finds a skeleton in an archaeological dig that was linked to a local man suspected of killing someone else. When she finds out that the man is the son of a Russian politician, she decides to investigate and help bring him to justice.

If you love spy dramas, thrillers and new mysteries, then Signora Volpe is definitely worth watching. It has a lot of similarities to The Madame Blanc Mysteries, Good Karma Hospital or Killing Eve but has its own twists. It has plenty of action, a strong female protagonist with serious skills, a devastatingly handsome detective for flirting and fighting, and interesting mysteries that are never too gruesome.

Season 2

Signora Volpe Season 2 is another espionage drama set in the beautiful Italian countryside from Acorn TV (Agatha Raisin, Queens of Mystery). Emilia Fox stars as a disillusioned MI6 spy who takes a break from her job to visit her sister Isabel Vitale (Tara Fitzgerald) in Umbria and attend her niece Alice's wedding. She soon discovers that her sister and her fiance are not who they seem, and she is pulled into a series of murders and mysteries.

The first season of Signora Volpe was a 3-episode series, but the second season is a full 10-episode season. The season begins with Sylvia Fox (Emilia Fox) moving to Italy to be closer to her family and seek a more peaceful life. She has to decide whether to return to her former life or try something new, and she's determined to make a difference.

She arrives in the country and immediately falls in love with the scenery and people. She also makes friends with her sister and her local Carabinieri Captain Giovanni Riva (Giovanni Cirfiera).

While Sylvia spends time in the village, she gets a call from her former lover Adam (Jamie Bamber) and is forced to return to her job in a way that she never expected. When she uncovers a story of dark secrets, domestic abuse and heroic sacrifice dating back decades, she can't shake her sense of justice.

In her spare time, Sylvia helps an old university friend at an archaeological dig. She then finds a skeleton in a shallow grave and is determined to find out who killed the woman. As the investigation unfolds, Sylvia learns that her sister was a police officer, and that her husband is still a detective.

The show is a nice mix of sleuthing and espionage with a beautiful setting that could easily have been an episode of Midsomer Murders. It's a fun mystery that's easy to watch, and it's not hard to root for Sylvia as she tries to solve the mystery of the skeleton in the grave. There are some good twists and turns along the way that will keep you interested until the end.

Season 3

Signora Volpe is a fantastic Acorn TV series that follows Sylvia Fox, a former MI6 agent who has decided to take a break from her desk job and spend time in beautiful Umbria. As she settles in, Sylvia gets closer to her estranged sister Isabel and local Carabinieri Captain Giovanni Riva while solving a series of gruesome murders.

This is a show that is perfect for crime fans looking to escape their lives and spend some time in a gorgeous location. It also has a lot of similarities to shows such as Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries, where a strong female leads a detective team to solve interesting crimes against the backdrop of beautiful scenery and delicious food.

The cast for Signora Volpe is amazing, with Emilia Fox (Silent Witness) playing the main character. Tara Fitzgerald (Game of Thrones) plays her sister Isabel, while Jamie Bamber (Battlestar Galactica) and Giovanni Cirfiera (Queen of the South) make up the rest of the cast.

In the first episode of season three, Sylvia heads to Umbria to attend her niece Alice’s wedding, only to find that her fiance Tommaso isn’t there. After poking around her niece’s home, she finds a dead woman floating in the lake outside their house. As Sylvia investigates, she reaches the conclusion that Tommaso isn’t a good person and might have a dark secret behind his past that could put Alice in danger.

She soon discovers that a local archaeologist is digging up the body of a young girl, but she suspects that this might be the work of a reclusive killer. Against the wishes of those running the dig, she reports it to the police, but her investigation puts her at odds with Riva and uncovers secrets that some locals would prefer to keep buried.

After solving the case of a stolen truffle pig, Sylvia is asked by her ex-husband to help with another homicide that has international ramifications. A Russian politician’s son is arrested in Rome for murdering a fellow student and Sylvia finds herself sucked into the investigation.

The third season of Signora Volpe is a wonderful mix of sleuthing, beautiful scenery and plenty of drama. The series is a bit slow at times, but it’s still worth watching as it’s full of interesting mysteries that never get too gruesome.
