What was supposed to be the ideal rural Washington town morphed into a child molestation hotbed in the mid-1990s. In the heyday of fads and flashy marketing schemes, this quaint little burg saw its fair share of pranksters, misfits and charlatans. The most enlightening of these was the case of a local high schooler named Jeremy Dogged. He was a self-described "child abductor," and had his own secret stash of cash. When he was arrested for the heinous crimes, his story took on a life of its own. The saga that followed would go on to inspire hundreds of lawsuits, hundreds of false convictions and dozens of public service awards. Now a quarter century later, the dog is out of the bag, and the community is back on track, with a new school of thought. Fox Nation's newest docuseries, in the valley of sin, tells the tale. The series is anchored by true crime aficionado Nancy Grace, and stars a bevy of stars including actors and actresses in the true crime genre, along with television and film luminaries from across the network.
Episode 1
The first episode of in the valley of sin is a riveting true-crime series that looks at a heinous child abuse scandal that pinned neighbors against neighbors in Wenatchee, Washington. The story of 43 parents arrested on heinous molestation charges and dozens of children taken from their families, it's a harrowing case that will leave viewers with unimaginable questions about justice and the system that can sometimes be so cruel.
In this episode, Tabby (Samantha Morton) and her friends learn the truth behind 'A' - principal Clanton is actually Angela's father, who has secretly been planning to kill their mothers. When Tabby confronts her, 'A' doubles down, so the girls must race against time to find out who he really is and why.
This episode also sees Stella (Line of Duty's Vicky McClure) become convinced that Lee McKeller has abducted her daughter Cleo. She risks her own safety to rescue her from a grotty bedsit, but when she brings her home Cleo confesses to murdering Maisie.
Without Sin has some of the most evocative house parties you'll ever see on TV, and it also tackles complex issues around class and social mobility with great care. It's a solid entry into the heavyweight thriller genre, and a great introduction to ITVX's exclusive new drama channel.
Episode 2
The second episode of ITV's new series is available to watch on ITX, ITV's rebranded streaming service. It's the show's first to be released online, and is a gripping psychological thriller set in the 1980s.
The episode begins on the Isle of Wight in December 1983, as Ritchie's family sit around and brood over his career choices, while he's singing on stage with Jill. But it's not long before Jill leaves to go and sit with Marcus in hospital.
When she returns, Marcus is ill and has no visitors. It's a very tense scene, and one that's now been addressed in a podcast episode from the show's creator Russell T Davies.
It's a very scary time, he explains in the podcast, and there was a lot of "uncomfortable truth" behind the scene. But he also says that it was important to portray people being scared and not having any information.
This is a very emotional episode, but it's also full of heart. It's the kind of episode that can really make you think about things, even if you don't feel like talking about them. And that's what makes the story so compelling. You'll want to stick with it until the very end.
Episode 3
The third episode of It's a Sin dealt with an uncomfortable but heart-wrenching storyline as one of the characters living at 'The Pink Palace' was diagnosed with AIDS. The scenes of Colin - known as "Colin the virgin" by his pals - being taken into hospital, rushed through a covid chest X-ray and told to wear a mask were some of the most moving scenes we've seen in a TV drama in a long time.
This was an episode that didn't just make you cry - it also left you with plenty of questions. From Stella's (Line of Duty's Vicky McClure) relationship with the man she believes murdered her daughter Maisie to Charles Stone's guilty or framed - we had a lot to think about, but this didn't stop it being an exciting and absorbing series.
This was also the first episode where we saw Bill (Nick Offerman, Devs) and Frank's (Murray Bartlett, The White Lotus) enduring relationship rekindled. The song Bill plays on the piano, Linda Ronstadt's 'Long, Long Time', encapsulates so much of their bond – and that's something that's definitely worth listening to again.
Episode 4
Episode 4 is the penultimate episode of the series, and it’s packed with drama. It’s the episode where we see Ritchie finally find out his test results and it’s a heartbreaking scene to watch.
This is an important moment in the story, as he’s battling for his life against an AIDS diagnosis. He’s a young man with so much going for him, and it’s heartbreaking to see how this affects him.
The show is set in March 1988, and it’s an incredibly hard time to be gay. There are adverts on TV stating how you should stay away from homosexuals, and there are many funerals of people with AIDS, so it’s understandable that Ritchie is scared to get tested.
But he’s determined to survive. It’s a testament to his character that he manages to keep going, and even finds some happiness again. He’s at his happiest when he cooks for his family, or goes to a bar with a friend.
This is a great, four-part series, and ITVX should be congratulated on giving us a heavyweight thriller that doesn’t outstay its welcome. It’s got a strong grasp of the politics of small working-class communities, and its characters are well drawn.
Episode 5
The fifth episode of Happy Valley (BBC One) was one of the best in the series so far, and a fantastic climax to a tense and gripping run-up. This week saw the brave and resolute Sgt Cawood (Sarah Lancashire) finally take to the skies in a daring aerial chase to rescue kidnapped victim Ann Gallagher from her captors.
The action shifted into the middle of the night, as Kata (Micah Fowler) and Arnar (Eddie Redmayne) tracked down the man they suspect killed their daughter. Their investigation led them to a remote garage in the heart of nowhere, where they found a killer's lair with all of his clippings and photographs pinned to the wall.
Meanwhile, Ritchie (Shaun Dooley) has been deteriorating in health, but his parents Valerie and Clive (Shaun Dooley) still don't know that he has AIDS or that he's gay. As he falls into depression, Ritchie is forced to live alone.
It's a sad story but it also hits close to home, as we see how real parents are often unable to accept their children’s sexuality. We even get to witness a father who was forced to kill his son after refusing to believe that he was gay.
Episode 6

As the North Valley Cartel prepares for a big move against the Cali Cartel, Pacho sends some men to take out some of the nastiest members of his rival’s organization. They’ll let them know that despite Gilberto’s arrest, the Cali Cartel isn’t going anywhere.
Meanwhile, Jorge is promoted as Miguel’s personal security, Pena continues to watch Franklin slip through his fingers and Chris and Dan are on the verge of losing their grip on the cartels. This season has been an emotional roller coaster, and it seems to be about to get even more intense as it nears its endgame.
