It also has a lot of the same elements that made Frank Miller’s Batman Year One so incredible, with a sense of noir and crime drama. But compared to those other stories, this one is a little more personal, which makes it a much more interesting take on the character of Batman.

Even though the animation was a bit stilted at times, I still enjoyed it because of its amazing atmosphere and interesting characters. I hope the second part does better and lives up to this fantastic start.
