And while it was interesting to hear Grant's fictional manuscript based on real-life scandals, the most bizarre storyline was the B-plot that featured McCord reading about Joe Biden coming “wildly close” to running against Hillary Clinton. While it seemed a bit like a joke, the B-plot actually set up some plot points that we could expect to see in the show next year.

If you're looking for a good TV series with a strong female lead, Madam Secretary is a great choice. It's not a show that focuses on politics per se, but it does a great job of shining a light on the sometimes-unsettling world of political office.
