If you want to watch a feel-good Disney sports film, then Rookie of the Year is an excellent choice. It features a young boy who dreams of playing baseball, but ends up becoming a professional athlete after a medical anomaly gives him a powerful arm.

It is a fun movie that is aimed at children and their parents, and it is easy to see why. Although there are a few slapstick sequences that could be improved, the overall feeling of this film is very positive.

The film stars Thomas Ian Nicholas as Henry Rowengartner, a little boy who wants to become a major league baseball player. Unfortunately, Henry has a few issues with his ability to play the sport, but he is supported by his mother Mary (Amy Morton) and best friends George and Clark.

Eventually, he gets his chance to prove his worth by throwing a fastball that can break the bones of even the most experienced players. As a result, Henry gets a spot on the Chicago Cubs.

As a way to support his favorite team, actor Daniel Stern has taken to Facebook and YouTube to offer some advice for the Cubs during their playoff run. He is reprising his role as Phil Brickma, the pitching coach from the 1993 film, Rookie of the Year, who helped mentor Henry Rowengartner.

The movie follows the young protagonist’s journey to become a major leaguer and his mentor, the famous aging baseball pitcher Chet “Rocket” Steadman.

Busey is one of the most recognizable faces in Hollywood and has appeared in more than 100 films, mostly as supporting characters. Despite his often troubled public appearances, he has a reputation for being a talented character actor.

In addition to his acting, Busey also holds a degree in psychology from Harvard University and has written several books about the psychology of the human mind. He was an Oscar-nominated actor for his role in the film The Buddy Holly Story.

The film also features a few excellent cameos by major-league players like Bobby Bonilla and Barry Bonds. It also has hilarious screw-ups by pitching coach Daniel Stern and brilliant play-by-play supplied by the late John Candy (Uncle Buck).

While the movie is mostly a kids’ sports film, it still manages to deliver plenty of adult humor. It sticks close to the established formula – a single-parent mom gets her dating life together, other kids are initially hurt by their friend’s success but end up supporting him – but it has such a good time playing it out that you can’t help but enjoy it.

This film stars Gary Busey as the baseball player Chet “Rocket” Steadman. Busey was known for his roles in The Buddy Holly Story and Lethal Weapon, but he was also quite good here.

The movie centers on a 12-year-old boy who becomes the star of his little league team after he breaks his arm and develops an ability to throw a ball with incredible velocity. He is recruited by his hometown Cubs to help save the team from a losing season.

He is placed under the wing of Phil Brickma, a wacky pitching coach (played by Daniel Stern) who is constantly finding Henry stuck in unpleasant situations. Henry learns from Brickma and his wacky partner Chet “Rocket” Steadman about things like curing hangovers before a big game, getting stuck between two doors, and the benefits of having a mustache.

When Steadman blows out his arm in a key game, he calls on Henry to save the day. Despite not being able to hit the ball with a high enough velocity, Henry’s arm heals quickly and he pitches his best game of the year.

Henry wins his first inning against the Mets and goes on to win a series against them, helping the Cubs win their division title. He even gets to meet his idol, a drunk, washed-up pitcher named Chet “Rocket” Steadman (played by Gary Busey), who soon becomes a mentor and a friend to Henry.
