June Shannon, a former beauty pageant contestant, gained fame as the mother of Honey Boo Boo on various reality shows. Now, Mama June wants to slim down and find a new love.
To help her slim down and get back to her normal weight, June undergoes a series of surgeries and diet changes. She also takes part in an intense workout routine led by drill sergeant-style trainer Kenya Crooks.
Her family, including her daughters Anna, Jessica and Alana, joined the show to watch as she shed hundreds of pounds. The series has followed their lives since its debut on WEtv in 2017.
In 2019, Mama June sold her Georgia home at a loss to pay for her troubled ex-boyfriend Geno’s drug habit. The couple was arrested for felony possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia and charged with domestic violence, but they later pleaded not guilty.
Meanwhile, her daughters are struggling with a lack of attention and support from their mother. To keep up with their needs, June hires a counselor to help her deal with the challenges she’s facing.
The counselor gives her three conditions to follow: that she gets a working phone, takes frequent drug tests and goes to outpatient rehab. When June refuses to follow these demands, her daughter Amber lets her know.
After her treatment session, June feels that she has a moment of clarity. But her resolve to fix things with Geno takes a turn for the worse when he taunts her.
Despite her feelings, she continues to pursue Geno, who is still struggling with his own demons and who has a history of committing suicide. When she catches him on a video, she breaks down and admits that she needs help.
On tonight’s episode, June and Geno go through a 30-day program. During the course of the program, June and Geno learn that they have to make big decisions. They are forced to choose between their daughters and their lives. In addition, Gina and Doe Doe visit Alabama to search for June. The family is determined to bring her home.

In this episode, June gets a surprise from her sister, Pumpkin. This surprises her because she thinks Pumpkin is hiding something from her. When she tries to find out what it is, she discovers that June has been spending a lot of money on a new man and that she has proposed to him.
It’s a big blow to June when she learns this, but it isn’t the end of the world. She and her sister will continue to work on their relationship.
After Mama June and her daughter Alana start to work on repairing their relationship, Alana decides that she wants to enter a beauty pageant. She is not happy with June, who seems to be more focused on her new mystery man than on her training for the competition.
